Imposter Syndrome Workshop w/Alice Mangan

Alice Mangan presented at the SWIP-Analytic roundtable on women in philosophy November 2014. As Alice informed us at that event, the Imposter Syndrome can be especially crippling for high-performing women. In April 2015 she is co-running an event by the CUNY Graduate Center Wellness Center. This event is open to current CUNY Graduate Center students.

Do you often feel like a fraud, faking your way through graduate school, just waiting for your true inadequacies to be exposed for all to see? Enduring and sometimes overwhelming feelings of fraudulence are central to psychological experience known as The Imposter Phenomenon. In this interactive workshop, we will discuss The Imposter Phenomenon, and work to help students develop strategies to combat this often crippling experience.
Alice Mangan, M.Phil., M.S. is an advanced candidate in the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology at City College/ The Graduate Center. She works clinically with children, adolescents and young adults in individual, group and couples treatment, and has a private practice as a learning specialist, parent and educational consultant in New York City.
Arielle Rubenstein is a predoctoral clinical psychology fellow.
